This is a really nice place to stop by and grab something to eat, super casual and laid back and the outdoor area is dog friendly. They even brought my buddy some water, the service was excellent. I highly recommend the onion soup and Reuben sandwich. My husband ordered the Carolina pulled pork sandwich and it was also really good. The drinks are on the pricier side, 14 for a hot cider so definitely something to keep in mind when ordering. The food was fairly priced. Overall i recommend this place and definitely would return.

Had a great day date with my fiance at the Four Dogs Tavern. Mike, who was bartending, also waited on us at our table in the bar area and he was so personable and friendly. He made great recommendations which we tried and absolutely loved... grilled octopus, shrimp lejon, beet & goat cheese salad with the most tender chicken (you could cut it with your fork). The portions are substantial and beautiful presentation. I can't wait to go back this summer and sit outside on the outdoor patio! This is a great spot to go to then drive around the beautiful countryside and hit either Northbrook Marketplace or the Amish Market at 202 and 926 for some great baked goods. Highly recommend this restaurant and will be back!

I’m normally don’t leave reviews, but I wanted to acknowledge the fantastic experience we had this past weekend. We took my elderly, Korean War veteran dad out for Sunday lunch to celebrate his birthday and just had the best time! My dad is known for jokingly giving service staff a hard time and just waits for them to get flustered and laugh (hard to break habits at his age). Our server Devon didn’t even flinch, and once they discovered their shared military background, my dear, yet prickly, dad was absolutely enamored with her! She gave awesome food recommendations; I highly recommend the crispy chicken and tuna! Overall, between the food, the atmosphere, and the great service, I can see this becoming our regular lunch spot from here on out!

Four Dogs is the beeest! The crab cakes (and cheese puffs!) are exquisite, as is the filet mignon. I haven't had everything on the menu, but have had enough to know it's top-notch. Chef David and his staff know what they're doing! That, the charming rustic atmosphere and the dog-friendly theme make it a cozy gem in the country!

Very relaxing atmosphere. The staff is very polite and easy to have conversation with. I had been here about 10 years ago and this recent trip I decided to order the same items - French onion soup and a reuben. Everything was perfect! Great way to end our mini road trip. Thank you!

From Maryland and was getting together with my older sisters for dinner at a natural restaurant location. Looked up restaurants in “West Chester” and found Four Dogs Tavern. Nice reviews and wanted to try it. My sisters and I have been in the restaurant industry years ago so just wanted decent service. Our waitress Briana was spot on. Professional, not pushy and honest. I got the Blackened Tuna w/ a side of Asparagus. Nice portions and prepared nicely. I would highly recommend this. My sisters got the Fish Tacos and the Beet salad. Again, nice portions and they were very happy with their entrees as well. We did not dig into desert due to we are trying our hardest to do better as well get older. LOL. I highly recommend this hidden gem and we look forward to going back on a more regular basis.

Overall, a very nice dining experience. The French dip and fries were tasty. Nice atmosphere outside in good weather. Their lemon meringue ice cream pie was huge and perfect for two. Only complaint was the lack of lower priced items. Lunch was similar price as dinner.

What a treasure that we wouldn't have found were it not for the local recommendation! We are based an hour away, but enjoy this area for hiking, history, and food exploration, and were delighted with how well-above-expectations this place turned out. We chose the bar seating in the back, which was a particularly charming, cozy nook, and were treated to excellent insider information from the ammicably respectful bar tenders. They know their stuff; on recommendation we got the best clam chowder soup, two lovely cocktails, shockingly well made pomme frites with garlic aioli, a special in house dessert, and the whole cured olives. All incredible. But the true stunner was the entre meatloaf melting with scrumptious flavors in our mouths. It won't be there much longer, with the changing seasonal menu, so I highly recommend trying it this weekend. The fresh salad greens of the brilliant pulled pork sandwich were also beautifully dressed and balanced. It was the first of many visits, but I don't think you can go wrong here. The French cuisine-trained, well-travelled chef owner has cultivated a gem. I particularly appreciate the local, hand-made and grown ingredients. No photos, because, frankly, we were just too engrossed in our meal to stop for proof.
